In order to upgrade the taste of curry, Japanese add a spoonful of yogurt on to the curry right before serving.

Give and Give

"Give and Take" has been a common idiom to identifying no free lunch. Tachibana Sacho said, "Give and Give is the right spirit as a leader."

The yogurt I have given to Connie, Iris and Lucy have all dead. I had the same experience. Today I give and give another round of baby yogurt to Iris and Connie. I wish them good luck and good health!

Pet your Yogurt

The perseverance of cultivating yogurt is a test of your state of love and consistency. Because sometimes you may not like to take yogurt everyday. What you have to do is at least to change it into a clean bottle and add 1/3 of fresh milk, give it a loving stire and leave in room temperature for 8 hr. The yogurt will live for you. Remember, they are living things and need your love and pet.

Yogurt is expensive

When I asked Iris (Michael) that does she eat yogurt. She said yes, but due to yogurt is expensive so she does not buy very often. Usually she pays HK$5 for a small one. Now, if she can cultivate her baby yogurt, she can enjoy more.

thanks my dear yogurt friend,

Giving is good

SN told me that her yogurt has gone and she thought she has no chance to enjoy her own yogurt anymore. Fortunately, before I left Singapore, I have given some to my sister who is living in there. I will ask Annisa to give back some yogurt to SN. I appreciated SN's giving heart to me and now in turn she can continue enjoying her yogurt grandchild.

My lineage

SN--> Bonnie:

--> Annisa --> her office colleague
--> Iris --> Angelina
--> Song --> me
--> Connie --> Lucy
--> Clara
--> Iris + Michael
--> Mom + Sany
--> Selene

If you like thicker Yogurt

Annisa is the first lineage from me. She lives in Singapore and she is the only one likes yogurt in her family. She does not require to cultivate too much yogurt for her own portion so she uses the 1:2 to 1:3 portion. She told me that her yogurt is getting thicker and thicker, almost like sticky rice dumpling. Wow!

A Sad News - about cultivation

SN wrote: [How have you been after coming back ? Is everything o.k ? .....the yogurt is still alive ?? unfortunately, mine has just "passed away" !! as I asked my son to culture for me one night, he put the whole thing in the cooler without cultivating, so , I can't enjoy it everyday now.... ]

Important Tips:
After you mixed the yogurt baby with fresh milk, please make sure you put in room temperature for about 8 hours for cultivation before you put your lovely new born baby yogurt into the fridge.

About her background

SN told me that the original yogurt was carried back by a Japanese doctor who is passionate in researching about yogurt from Bougarlia. The Japanese doctor named the original yogurt as "YogurtKing" which is used to cultivate yogurt product for our taste.

SN said Japanese pass around the YogurtKing only among Japanese best friends and encourage the receivers to use as home-made yogurt motto but not for comercial purpose.

Upon returned to Hong Kong, I did a market research about yogurt. Most of the yogurts are imported from New Zealand, Austrilia, Sweden, Japan, China and France. We also have local made one. In average their prices are ranged from HK$7-15 per piece. By checking their ingredient, they added sugar, fruit flavor, gelatine. In selling point, they emphasis on creamy. smoothness, fresh milk and time length in cultivation.

My first baby

I went close to my bottle of yogurt with a very strange feeling. May be I could cultivate her successfully or I failed. After I opened the cover and looked carefully inside, I found she was getting together like a thin slum of pudding. I did it!

I wanted to try it immediately but worrying that I may spoiled her. So, immediately, I transfer 1/3 of her into another clean bottle, purposely to cultivate another one - to let her lives on. I felt save of letting her sleep and grow again.

The beginning of my lineage

I returned from Singapore to Hong Kong 2 Jan 2005 by SQ. In my racksack, I carried along with me a bottle of yogurt (about 20g) which I received from my best friend SN who married with a Japanese.

I never treated yogurt so preciously. In fact, a bit of worry whether I might kill them by treating them properly with right temperature.

Upon arrival at home, I immediately opened it and checked its condition. Its seemed turning a bit waterly. I hurry up ran to a supermarket and bought a pack of mongolia 4% milk and started to cultivate my personal yogurt.

I poured about 300c.c. of fresh milk in to a clear bottle with the precious yogurt, stirring it well with a spoon. Then, say a loving prayer to her and leave her in room temperature for 8 hours.

Let me check my luck and love later.
